Research in Motion's two co-CEOs promised major improvements to BlackBerry software coming within the next few months, at a meeting with financial analysts on Monday.
The new Blackberry 6 operating system, which will arrive within the "third quarter" of the year, has a new Web browser, new user interface, and more media capabilities, Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis said. BlackBerrys will also support Adobe's Flash technology in the future, Balsillie said.
"I'm sure some people have heard of holy wars between the HTML5 guys and the Flash guys," Balsillie said. "It's unnecessary, but whatever."
